From The Sierra Club, “Elon Musk’s DOGE team has fired thousands of rangers, educators, scientists, and caretakers of the National Park Service, Forest Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, and Bureau of Land Management. Unless they are reversed, these mass firings will hurt protected lands, wildlife, and visitors.”

From Conservation Lands, “Our country's treasured public lands and waters, including national parks and monuments, are at risk. The new administration, Congress, and Secretary of the Interior have set a course to sell and shut down these cherished outdoor spaces, threatening the $640-billion recreation economy and putting millions of acres of wildlife habitat and sacred cultural landscapes in danger of being developed and lost forever.
In February 2025, Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum issued a 15-day secret review of 160 national monuments and all public lands withdrawn from fossil fuel and mining development.
Since President Trump and his Congressional lackeys didn't offer any opportunity for the public to weigh in, we thought we'd do it for them. Customize the letter below to let the new administration and members of Congress know YOUR thoughts on national monuments and this shady, unpatriotic review.”

From CalWild, “A U.S. Representative and Senator from the State of Utah have introduced the so-called Ending Presidential Overreach on Public Lands Act. The bill seeks to take away the President’s authority to use the Antiquities Act to protect lands and waters by designating them as a national monument or by expanding existing national monuments. The bill would reserve the right to designate or expand national monuments to Congress, only, which will have the effect of taking away our ability to ask Presidents to take action to protect as national monuments those irreplaceable places that are dear to our hearts and to those of future generations.”
