As we are all too painfullly aware, in January 2025 a large fire swept through Altadena and other foothill communities driven by extreme hurricane force Santa Ana winds. This fire alone would be devestating for our city of Los Angeles but due to the relentless winds fires broke out all over Southern California and Pacific Pallasades as well as parts of Topanga and Malibu were destroyed as well.

This city is big but I have never thought it could feel so small. Ten million people live here yet somehow we all know someone who has lost a home or who has been displaced by these fires. There is so much need it is hard to know where to start.

While I am personally giving to both direct fundraising efforts and larger organizations running logistics for disaster relief when it came to thinking about what my art could be used for I had to see if it could be useful to the place that inspired me to start LA Is Not A Desert in the first place.

I have been in touch with those organizing the next steps for Eaton Canyon Natural Area and they have agreed to accept my offer of donating proceeds from my watershed art and stickers. Through February 21st I will be donating proceeds form my Arroyo Seco and LA River art as well as several other designs I created that promote our beautiful Chapparal ecosystem here in LA.
