Did you know there is a wildlife refuge along the LA River? Maybe you know Lake Balboa in the valley? Which is another man made lake nearby with more recreation opportunities like fishing and boating. But unlike Lake Balboa this pond is for the birds! Which means no fishing here or dogs in order to help the wildlife have a place to be unbothered by our pets or fishing poles. 
But you won’t miss your reel or your furry friend as there is so much wildlife to see here! 
Sadly this area doesn’t get as much attention as other parts of the LA River like the Glendale Narrows but recent collaborative efforts with the @folarorg and @cnps.losangeles have brought more volunteers on weekend planting events.
